||Where do we start!!!
If you are fed up with the beaches, the golf clubs, tennis clubs, bowling clubs, social clubs, sailing clubs and sports clubs or you don't feel like going for another walk through the vineyards or orange groves - what can you do!!
Well, there's always the safari park, the water parks, the museums, the art galleries, the theatre, the cinema - both drive in and sit down, the theme parks, not to mention the restaurants, the bars and the night life in busy Benidorm. And not to be forgotten, there is the new Cuidad de las Artes y de las Ciencias (City of Art and Science) in Valencia.
It has a theatre, a botanical garden a science museum and a fantastic aquarium with several underwater tunnels where you can walk beneath the sharks and other fasinating sea life. The architecture is literally out-of-this-world (see photo) and well worth spending at least a day appreciating.
But if you are fed up with all of this and want to get away, there are many companies offering day trips and mini breaks to Ibiza, Majorca or Menorca from the port in Denia.
The coastal town of Benidorm has become an extremely popular tourist destination, especially with British holiday makers. It is not really surprising, seeing as, not only is it a place that offers sun, sea and sand, even in December it is sunny, it also offers, culture, good food, historical sites and is a good place to party.
When I went last year, I was surprised at how many different attractions there were on offer. One of my favourite days out had to be the trip to Mundomar. This is an animal park located next to the big water park in Benidorm. There are many different animal parks in the area but this one, was definitely the most recommended. At Mundomar you can see many different animal shows, my favourite was the sea lion show, hugely amusing and entertaining. There is also the possibility to swim with dolphins, which if you have never done it, is an amazing experience that you will never forget.
There are many different beaches to explore in Benidorm. Personally, I preferred the old town side rather than the Levante side. The best beach in my opinion is Poniente Beach. It is a beautiful, clean beach and the nice thing about it, is that you can walk for miles up the beach into the old town, where you can experience some delicious Spanish tapas at reasonable prices.
I don´t think anyone can go to Benidorm and not experience the nightlife that is on offer. A really fun night out can be had at the Benidorm circus, well known for its entertainment value and audience participation, one of my friends was pulled up on stage, I had not laughed so much in a long time. If you are there for a few days, this is definitely something to consider for a night out. After the circus, it is a good idea to head to the main strip, this is where you will find all the bars. There are some great deals on cocktails and with the typical Spanish drink measures, you are sure to be able to party the night away.
